Panorama Activities Parent Meeting

All parents of students in grades 7–12 are encouraged to attend a Parent Activities Meeting at Panorama High School. We will be discussing important topics that impact all junior high and high school activities. Your attendance and input are greatly valued as we work together to support our student-athletes and activity programs.

The start of a new school year brings students of all ages walking to and from school and school bus stops. Safety of the students is our first priority and we want everyone to be watching for the students early in the mornings and in the afternoons. Additionally, be aware of school buses running routes. This is a reminder that passing a school bus with lights flashing is a hazard and against the law.

Immediately following the completion of enrollment on 8/15/2025, school bus routes will be finalized. If your student is riding a bus, please make sure that you complete the transportation portion of enrollment so they will be properly placed on a bus route.

Reminder: Join us TONIGHT at 6:30pm for a discussion about the bond referendum on the ballot this November for Panorama CSD! 📣

The meeting will be held at the Panorama Auditorium. It will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn about the district’s facility needs and the solutions possible with a voter-approved bond.

Activity registration for grades 7–12 and submission of all required forms will be handled online through Bound this year! All forms must be completed and submitted before any student is allowed to participate in an activity.

✅ Get started by setting up your Family Account now!
Follow these simple steps to register your student:

🔹 Scan the QR code attached to access the Bound registration page.
🔹 Log in with your existing Bound account or click “Create Account.”
(Use the same account if you've registered before or purchased tickets.)
🔹 When registering a child for the first time, you’ll create your Family Account by entering your name, family last name, and a few other details.
🔹 Add your child(ren) and any additional guardians. You can invite guardians by email and choose their access level. (This is a one-time setup — your info carries over each year!)

👟 To register a child for an activity:
• Click “Register” on their Family Card
• Choose Panorama and ALL activities they plan to participate in during the 2025–2026 school year
• Complete the prompts to finish registration

📌 Don’t wait — take care of this now to ensure your student is ready for the first practice or meeting!

📢 Family Week begins this weekend!

From July 27 to August 3, 2025, the Panorama Community School District will observe Iowa's official "Family Week" (No Contact Week). That means no school sports or activities during this time.

This break is a great chance for students and staff to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. No practices, no games, just time to focus on what matters most. 💙

Panorama Schools will open our 2025-2026 registration process on Monday, July 28th, 2025, online at http://www.panoramaschools.org. “Online Registration” can be found on the left side of the front page once it is available. – Please follow and fill out all forms on the registration page.

We’re excited to share that several of our Panorama Panther students have earned a spot on the DMACC Spring 2025 Dean’s or President’s List! 🙌

DMACC recognized 4,848 Career Advantage students this spring — up 410 from last year — and our Panthers are proudly among them. This achievement highlights not only the strength of the Career Advantage program, but also the hard work and dedication of our students. 💪📚

Dear Families and Staff, Community members are now circulating petitions asking the Board of Education to place a $19.6 million general obligation bond referendum on the November 4 ballot. State law requires that signatures be collected from 168 eligible voters residing in the Panorama Community School District, which amounts to 25% of the voter total in our most recent board election. Petitions are available at multiple locations throughout the district: Panorama Secondary District Office, Panora Fiber and NAPA Auto Parts in Panora, Jamaica Public Library, Farmers State Bank in Yale, and Linden Public Library. CONTINUING TO INVEST IN OUR SCHOOLS IS AN INVESTMENT IN OUR AREA! Specifically, the petition will read as follows: TO THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PANORAMA COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, IN THE COUNTIES OF GUTHRIE, DALLAS, AND GREENE, STATE OF IOWA: We, the undersigned, are eligible electors, reside within the School District and petition the Board of Directors of the School District to call a special election to submit to the voters of the School District the following proposition the purpose of which cannot be accomplished within the limit of one and one-quarter percent of the assessed value of the taxable property within the School District. Shall the Board of Directors of the Panorama Community School District in the Counties of Guthrie, Dallas, and Greene, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $19,600,000 to build, furnish, and equip an addition to the secondary building for a competition gymnasium, including site improvements; to remodel, repair, furnish, and equip the secondary building, including improvements to classrooms, common areas, secure entrance, roofing, and site improvements; and to remodel, repair, furnish, and equip the elementary building, including a secure entrance, roofing, and site improvements, including an accessible playground? Once the signature requirement is fulfilled, the petition can be presented to the board for verification, and a decision can be made on the referendum request. As many of you know, the board and administration have invested a significant amount of time in the past year exploring solutions to the facility challenges our students and staff face. This included a thorough assessment of our schools by architects and engineers, as well as creating an advisory committee that includes community members. The committee ultimately provided a recommendation. This list included the installation and securing the entrance at the elementary school, a new roof, and an enhanced playground that will improve accessibility for all children. These projects will only enhance safety and the overall elementary student experience at school. At the secondary school, the proposal calls for updates to the undersized shop area, providing more career and technical education opportunities for students considering a future in the skilled trades. Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems would be updated, and renovations would occur to the school’s entrance, commons area, kitchen, restrooms, and other spaces. Another exciting project that would become a reality with a voter-approved bond is the construction of a heavily needed new competition gymnasium at the secondary school. This investment would significantly benefit our community by providing additional space and resources for physical education classes, athletic teams, school events, youth programs, and overall community activities. Through many conversations with community members, it's clear that investing in our facilities continues to be a priority for our area and our families. The total projected debt service tax rate implication for this potential project would be $1.96 per $1,000 taxable property value. Panorama's average total property tax rate over the last 18 years is $13.10. With an approved bond, our projected levy rate would be approximately $12.40. This shows how fiscally responsible the board has been over the years. We will continue to provide more information about the facility challenges we face and the potential solutions offered by a potential bond issue throughout the summer and fall. It’s important for everyone to have the chance to ask questions and share input when it comes to reshaping our schools, so please feel free to contact me at any time.
