From July 27 to August 3, 2025, the Panorama Community School District will observe Iowa's official "Family Week" (No Contact Week). That means no school sports or activities during this time.

This break is a great chance for students and staff to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. No practices, no games, just time to focus on what matters most. 💙

DMACC recognized 4,848 Career Advantage students this spring — up 410 from last year — and our Panthers are proudly among them. This achievement highlights not only the strength of the Career Advantage program, but also the hard work and dedication of our students. 💪📚

Dear Families and Staff, Community members are now circulating petitions asking the Board of Education to place a $19.6 million general obligation bond referendum on the November 4 ballot. State law requires that signatures be collected from 168 eligible voters residing in the Panorama Community School District, which amounts to 25% of the voter total in our most recent board election. Petitions are available at multiple locations throughout the district: Panorama Secondary District Office, Panora Fiber and NAPA Auto Parts in Panora, Jamaica Public Library, Farmers State Bank in Yale, and Linden Public Library. CONTINUING TO INVEST IN OUR SCHOOLS IS AN INVESTMENT IN OUR AREA! Specifically, the petition will read as follows: TO THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PANORAMA COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, IN THE COUNTIES OF GUTHRIE, DALLAS, AND GREENE, STATE OF IOWA: We, the undersigned, are eligible electors, reside within the School District and petition the Board of Directors of the School District to call a special election to submit to the voters of the School District the following proposition the purpose of which cannot be accomplished within the limit of one and one-quarter percent of the assessed value of the taxable property within the School District. Shall the Board of Directors of the Panorama Community School District in the Counties of Guthrie, Dallas, and Greene, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $19,600,000 to build, furnish, and equip an addition to the secondary building for a competition gymnasium, including site improvements; to remodel, repair, furnish, and equip the secondary building, including improvements to classrooms, common areas, secure entrance, roofing, and site improvements; and to remodel, repair, furnish, and equip the elementary building, including a secure entrance, roofing, and site improvements, including an accessible playground? Once the signature requirement is fulfilled, the petition can be presented to the board for verification, and a decision can be made on the referendum request. As many of you know, the board and administration have invested a significant amount of time in the past year exploring solutions to the facility challenges our students and staff face. This included a thorough assessment of our schools by architects and engineers, as well as creating an advisory committee that includes community members. The committee ultimately provided a recommendation. This list included the installation and securing the entrance at the elementary school, a new roof, and an enhanced playground that will improve accessibility for all children. These projects will only enhance safety and the overall elementary student experience at school. At the secondary school, the proposal calls for updates to the undersized shop area, providing more career and technical education opportunities for students considering a future in the skilled trades. Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems would be updated, and renovations would occur to the school’s entrance, commons area, kitchen, restrooms, and other spaces. Another exciting project that would become a reality with a voter-approved bond is the construction of a heavily needed new competition gymnasium at the secondary school. This investment would significantly benefit our community by providing additional space and resources for physical education classes, athletic teams, school events, youth programs, and overall community activities. Through many conversations with community members, it's clear that investing in our facilities continues to be a priority for our area and our families. The total projected debt service tax rate implication for this potential project would be $1.96 per $1,000 taxable property value. Panorama's average total property tax rate over the last 18 years is $13.10. With an approved bond, our projected levy rate would be approximately $12.40. This shows how fiscally responsible the board has been over the years. We will continue to provide more information about the facility challenges we face and the potential solutions offered by a potential bond issue throughout the summer and fall.
