Panorama students Brayden Meinecke and Gavin Lindstrom will be recognized by the Des Moines High School Hockey for the league's "Senior Sunday" event. Before the puck drops on Sunday, Feb. 1, at 9:30 a.m. The players and their parents will take the ice at the MidAmerican Rec Plex in West Des Moines.
Lindstrom and Meinecke have played hockey for the Des Moines Rec Leagues since the 6th grade. A sport that started as roller hockey in the Meinecke's basement, with their grandfather's hockey gear, led to the boys begging to take "Learn to Skate Hockey" lessons. Last year, they helped their team, The Des Moines Thunder, win the championship for the City League Tournament. Gavin was nominated to be the Captain of the team this year. Lindstrom plays right wing, and Meinecke shines as a strong defenseman. Come out and support The Des Moines Thunder this Sunday!

Several guest speakers have been kind enough to visit the class to discuss careers in drone use. Josh & Justin Tuel (Tuel Family Farms) discussed drones in Agriculture. They brought in their very large spray drone for us to see. Garrett Armstrong (Whitetail Properties) demonstrated how he uses aerial photography/videography to map and capture large parcels of rural real estate, and lastly, Trooper Nick Henkle, Technical Crash Investigator from the Iowa State Patrol spoke about how drones help him map and measure crime scenes, as well as other Public Safety applications. We are very thankful to all of these professionals for sharing their experience with us!

We are excited to formally introduce Taylor Morris as the incoming Dean of Students and Head High School Football coach for the 2026-2027 school year.
Coach Morris joins us with a wealth of experience from AC/GC, where he has spent his time as an Activities Director and football coach. Beyond his expertise on the field, Coach Morris is committed to the personal growth of our students. In his role as Dean of Students, he will work across all grade levels to provide high-level support and mentorship for our learners, from elementary through high school.
His philosophy is simple: "Success is earned through discipline, effort, and accountability." - Taylor Morris
“Taylor is a great addition to Panorama as our Head Football Coach and District Dean of Students. He’s an excellent relationship builder who knows how to create a positive, high-standard culture. His experience in building successful athletic programs, clear communication, and strong work ethic will benefit our students right away, and he’s the kind of leader who values both school and community.” - Activities Director Bruce Dahlhauser
We believe his focus on building relationships and a positive school culture makes him the perfect fit for the Panorama community. Please join us in welcoming Coach Morris as he prepares to lead our students and student-athletes towards growth and success!
