Welcome to my learning site! I am in my 17th year as an educator. I have taught multiple ELA classes at Panorama High School (English 9, English 11, Creative Communication, Creative Writing I & II, Ancient Literature, Elizabethan, and DMACC Communications as an adjunct professor). I am now in my fourth year as the Instructional Coach, part of the Teacher Leadership program. With this title I have the privilege of working with many amazing teachers. The Teacher Leadership team organizes and plans our Professional Development, provides mentoring for new teachers, and coaches staff in their disciplines. I am also excited to start my work with MISIC (Impacting Students; Improving Curriculum) as I was elected onto the Region 1 Steering Committee! You may also find me outside of the classroom. I coach high school girls basketball and junior high softball and am the sponsor of the High School Student Council, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), and the Senior Class.
My passion for learning, leadership, and athletics began on a farm south of Panora. It continued as I attended the Panora-Linden Elementary. When we became the Panorama Panthers, we gained new classmates and friends from Yale-Jamaica-Bagley (YJB). In my Panorama career, I had been involved in cross country, football cheer, flags, basketball, drill team, track & field, softball, & student council. After high school, I attended Buena Vista University. While I was there, I had the opportunity to obtain my degree and play both basketball and softball for the Beavers. I am very thankful for my educational journey.
What I love the most... is that my own three kids get to have their educational journey begin right here at Panorama, too!
