alright so yesterday our first point was focus and self-control Maggie tell me what you knew ahead of time what's the first thing you wrote about it what did you write in the earned that I put up on the on the board right what does that mean what does internal sources or influences from what's our problem stop Brother people anything else because yourself and other people would be my own there you go perfect okay so clear what was number 2 perspective talking the way you see things okay I want to continue off the topic from yesterday cuz we didn't quite finish perspective-taking okay now she just said in the video then it's okay for other people to have a different perspective right don't tell me I'm guilty of this are you thinking the only way this is how I've always done it isn't that the way it goes do we all have something like that when we always done it that way and somebody else does it a different way alright so is it okay to have a different perspective or a different way of doing things yes or no wine why not yes because I was taught differently give me an example set think Maggie yesterday you were talking about Playstation Xbox write the difference between those what's something that you made you differently than me play pretty easy uranium help go ahead why cuz she's probably do it more experience what Piggly Wiggly Notary observation okay what else Mandy what's something you might do differently than me then okay okay today in the computer that's a really good example explain to me how they're teaching me how to do math try to help you understand alright perfect so Brian what's something open it up Justin perfect nothing wrong with the way your dressing is there anything wrong with okay but tell me what's the difference between what I'm dressing I'm at work I'm a teacher different generation knock I'm not that far away. play yoga pants design you probably want to follow Mike cuz you can be less formal say that how to dress more professional when I'm inside of school and working perfect man up top correct reasons on the perspective-taking why I would dress differently than other people in school who would you think my dress other teacher the professionally exact okay perspective-taking I want to hit one more spot on it that's very pointed okay in the outside world on a day-to-day basis we might run into people that are approaching a same situation much differently okay Maggie tell me is it okay if someone else handles our problems differently hey Google kids can handle it Kentucky argue Define shrub I said always in trouble for something that doesn't taste right like are you okay today okay so we might try to handle it why would we try to handle it and they wouldn't okay what's up Woody Toys R Us so some people care and some people don't care about what is it this always the same thing so there might be absolutely is that okay because we don't need to now that there's where things get to find out right not caring what people think means if someone like okay right now I don't care what other people think about my dress because I'm dressing professionally forward I'm dressing professionally for work right so if someone make me fall in the cool Trend launch other people think play games Johnston who your parents yeah they don't want to see me turn off saggy bottom right like oh that's my student teacher wearing his drawers down to his knees probably not so alright so it's okay that in that situation that you say no address this way this is how I want to dresses to talk there's nothing wrong with it but tell me listen Okay I'm going to I'm going to give you a specific situation some I'm outside gets in a car accident outside where the school walking by what is a group what would you generally do is it okay to say I'm going to help or call number one or I'm just going to leave it and if you're by yourself OK Google what's the difference between by yourself less likely to react because you're waiting for somebody to take okay what about if you're alone you said what you guys think is there upside down on something okay so this severity you saying okay turn upside down and then fine should probably help them while on the phone with the please tell me that you're in the group and part of the groups like wow that's that Carlin fire that really stinks no I would just you need to call and get somebody get on the phone I can't be a firefighter okay so the point made right here there are some things that as a group and as people View at okay it's okay that you have a different opinion on this but this is right and wrong right right or wrong to watch someone burn and die in their car when you could have helped or walk away which one's right which was wrong what kind of wrong I mean is it going to happen so fast like accidents happen probably just wait off The Griddle and really fly shop that situation this is an emergency situation back on the perspective taking point of you with this there are things that are wrong hey you on your way I have my way let's just say I like I like to pour skim milk on my cereal maybe you should yeah add a play by so okay are you guys okay I need skim milk because it has less lactose in it a choice type of thing right okay we're going to the next one I think we're going to hit the video get ready for number 3 I'm up here and we'll pause it again at number 3 no volume how many devil to hear it huh here we go is thinking through what it is want to trade and then understanding the perspectives of other people Progresso number 3 was communicating once you have that written down well I'll put it back up on the board but the thing that I want you to do as well as see see the word written. when you looking up at the board on know that you're ready for me to go on with the video here okay so this video I want you to listen to what she says about communicating right away here all right and I noticed if there's anything in it just coming through what it is you want and then understanding the perspectives of other people who are going to be the recipient 70 people listen to understand what each other says it's it's critical in business for example to understand what your customers need critical in at a family relationships to understand what other people think and feel but then to communicate what is the reach the best you can call sketch that what was that connection I would be like I communicate with him that you need to come please and want to be get another car for the fire on its own shirt without me absolutely new question that alright ARA last one tell me what number to West Clare what was number 2 communicating right just like you were just talking about now what is about understanding respect when you communicate so if you don't understand you would even know what the person is talking about okay so am I living situations now if I design my maybe all the wave that my most boring college professor taught a lesson to me are you guys probably going to be so I hopped into your perspective I said Claire Maggie Brian are not going to be interested in the Clear Eyes commercial guy going perspective and said you guys actually get involved in enjoy talk about and actually communicate with me that makes so tell me true outer light because a lot of times we just respond to people we would be paying right so perspective-taking with Bonita and Brian what did you do perspective-taking in your communication what's that to you turn the friends let me let me let me to find us a little better for you okay perspective take seeing things from other people's B so would sing and understanding other people's views help how you communicate with them absolutely so if you can understand what they're saying now think of it yes that sounds kind of weird but if that's how you see I'm stepping in her shoes listen to me I understand that she does not want to hear me in a monotone voice just stating facts so Claire what might that look like for you you work at hometown I'm just asking any example you want to give why is perspective taking off your feet again it's like some customers like you can like the doubt like I said don't be there we have the groceries names instead of are two things you have like 10 minutes and I goes like the fun customers and then you'll be customers so can you tell which ones you can do that with pretty quickly why Hi how are you in say anything y'all **** every was kind of days don't say anything then you kind of get the hint that okay you don't want to talk to okay how about you now okay now how do you think I didn't lose you this morning in math that I do have to buy it is that so and I was only trying to do it my way by like Friday night I'll take a note but I asked for help what you help me and I fell it but you're making all the time so that example really good example because one of the main things for me as a teacher is taking perspective if I see that one way that I am maybe I toss skill open the box with the same hammer now that's a copper right okay so what might you do we're taking stepping into somebody else's shoes or seeing a different viewpoint okay you're talking to them and being a prospective stuff absolutely that goes back to the perspective that one of the big things we talked about perspective everybody has their own line of you way they learn things things like that right okay so taking the perspective and that everyone has their own background does that mean I can communicate the same way with every person what's are different some people are different tell me what that might look like they all just matters on how we do things cuz I do different as you think they're going to Brian clerihew so bright respect to take tourniquet what's it mean that's good I'm talking about right okay let's continue watching the video is anything more that she at presents for in this world the elevator speech if you only had an elevator with someone and that person is really important to something that you wanted to what would you say to be able to get through to that person that's what okay we won't do number for yet will start that tomorrow but let's finish talk really quick the elevator thing in every class was the elevators every class was elevator situation you got it depends on what and whether or not I'm actually making sense means the same thing ask how well I communicate you need understand down in one minute what unified explained 4 hours if I don't understand your perspective in math not going to get any of it bling bling bike
