Panorama Elementary Makerspace!

The elementary library was the recipient of a Making STEM Connections award which has allowed us to create a Makerspace for the students. Our Makerspace is a place where students have access to various tools, equipment, and materials that can be used to create, build, and tinker.  Students will be able to learn everything from how to sew, fuse plastic, code, work with circuits, craft, and use power tools. The Makerspace fits well with the library curriculum by enforcing 21st century skills of creating, communicating, collaborating, and critical thinking. In addition, it  provides cross-curricular connections by supporting STEM -  the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.

Students are also learning the importance of safety with the 3 C’s - Caution and Communication when they are unfamiliar with an item, which in time builds Confidence.  These concepts are reinforced whenever students are in the Makerspace.

Mission Statement
In support of the Panorama school district’s commitment to educational excellence, the school library supports teaching and learning by equipping others with life-long learning skills, developing imaginations, and enabling students to live as responsible citizens.
